Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to learn to ride with Flying Colours Motorcycle Training Ltd. This form will provide you with information in relation to your training – please contact us if you have any additional questions. This agreement is made between yourself (the customer) and Flying Colours, in relation to payments and arrangements for your training. Please note once you book this means you have agreed to our T&Cs.

CBT:

The cost of your CBT is £169 using our bike and equipment, £130 for a retake with a valid CBT and own bike. The cost includes the use of our motorcycles and all equipment, your training should take approximately 4-8 hours minimum. If at the end of your CBT you are not ready or safe to go on the road independently, we will ask you to return for further sessions before we can issue you with a CBT certificate. The cost of returning to finish the CBT is charged @ £40 per hour, the hours you need shall be agreed between you and your instructor before you leave.

DAMAGE FEE:

Pease note any damage to our property/bikes caused by the student must be paid for in full before a CBT and/or a course can be finished. 

LESSONS:

hourly rate lessons are charged at £40 an hour, lessons are only available to students who have done a course with us and still need training to complete their Tests/CBT.

TRAINING COURSE: 

Please note that once you pay a deposit for a course you are agreeing to our T&C’s. The courses are priced from ££649 to £895. This covers training with our instructors, use of all equipment, motorcycle that is taxed, mot’d and insured and the cost of the test/s itself. A non-refundable deposit of £200 is required when booking, the remainder will be required two weeks before your course starts via card, bank transfer. If after your first day on the training course the instructor feels the customer is unsuitable for intensive training Flying Colours reserves the right to substitute the remainder of the course for lessons (number of hours to be agreed between instructor and student). Please be aware for all students on intensive week long courses if you do not pass your mod 1 test you cannot take your mod 2, the customer will be liable for the cost of booking their new test/s with the DVSA.

Cost of fuel:

During an A1, A2 and DAS courses the pupil will be loaned a suitable motorcycle, petrol is the responsibility of the pupil during their training, this is roughly £5 a day.

Re-Taking of Test/s:

If the unfortunate should happen and the student finds him/herself having to re-take a test/s, an hourly charge applies of £40 per hour for all extra training needed/undertaken. 

Cancellations:

DAS, A2 and A1 courses:

All deposits are non-refundable. To cancel and get a full refund flying colours needs 10 working days notice. If you start a course and decide to cancel flying colours will try to refund you your test fees (£95.50) assuming there is enough time with the DVSA to get a refund.

CBTs 

CBTs can be moved if we are given 5 days notice. Cancelling a CBT must be done a minimum of 10 working days before the date of the CBT or the customer will loose their CBT fee.

Acknowledgement of the risks of motorcycling:

 I understand that by taking part in this activity I am exposed to a risk of death, becoming permanently disabled or suffering some other serious injury and I acknowledge that even in the event that negligence on the part of Flying colours MCT Ltd, or their Instructors, or any Individual carrying out duties on their behalf were to be a contributory cause of any serious injury I may suffer, the dominant cause of any serious injury will always be my voluntary decision to take part in riding a motorcycle.
