Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to learn to ride with Flying Colours Motorcycle Training Ltd. This form will provide you with information in relation to your training – please contact us if you have any additional questions. This agreement is made between yourself (the customer) and Flying Colours, in relation to insurance, payments and arrangements for your training.

Insurance

You have the option to take out insurance for the duration of your training. In the event that during your training our vehicles, equipment or property are damaged, there will be no additional cost for the customer with this insurance. If the insurance is not taken the customer will be liable for the cost of repairs up to £350 per day. The insurance costs £10 for a CBT or £50 for Intensive training courses/ all lessons booked. If you wish to take out the insurance please add it to the student details form. Please note this insurance does not apply to customers who chose to use their own motorcycles.

CBT

The cost of your CBT is £100. The cost includes the use of our motorcycles and all equipment, your training should take approximately 4-5 hours minimum. If at the end of your CBT you are not ready or safe to go on the road independently, we will ask you to return for further sessions before we are able to issue you with a CBT certificate. This is included in the cost. If you require 2 or more return visits these will be chargeable at our standard rate of £40 per two hours.

Lessons

Lessons are offered as part of a fully paid course or at £40 for two hours (minimum) . Lessons are 2 hour sessions unless otherwise agreed. If you are more than 30 minutes late for your lesson we reserve the right to cancel and rearrange.

Training Courses.

The courses are priced at £549 or £599 including a CBT. This covers training, use of all equipment and the cost of the test itself. A non-refundable deposit of £350 is required when booking, the remainder will be required on your first day of training in cash or cheque 5 days before your first day. If after your first day on the training course the instructor feels the customer is unsuitable for intensive training Flying Colours reserves the right to substitute the remainder of the course for lessons (amount of hours to be agreed between instructor and student). Please be aware for all students on intensive week long courses if you do not pass your modular one test you cannot take your modular 2 there for the customer will be liable for the cost of booking their new test with the Driving Standards Agency. Flying colours operates a guaranteed pass scheme with its customers who opt for a full course (£549 or £599), flying colours will be liable for training for up to three tests, thereafter the customer will be liable for training at £40 for two hours (minimum). Flying colours defines a motorcycle test as either modular 1 or modular 2.

Changes to training

Flying Colours reserves the right to change the time/dates of your training or test if unforeseen circumstances arise. If you cannot attend your training please inform us as early as possible and we will rearrange to a more suitable time for you. If you do not attend and do not provide a minimum notice period of 48 hours you remain liable for 50% of the full cost of your training. Flying colours reserves the right to change or cancel training without a refund if flying colours suspects the trainee of being unsuitable to to ride a motorcycle due to lack of sleep. alcohol intake, drugs abuse or any thing else that may affect a students ability to be on the road. 

Payment

Payment for all training is required in advance – please see above notes for timescales and costs in relation to your specific training. Please note that full payment in cleared funds is required. We can accept card, cash or cheques made payable to Flying Colours. Cheques need to be received 5 working days in advance. If for any reason your cheque is declined or cancelled, we will require payment in cash prior to your training. We will need a £50 deposit for CBT bookings and a £350 deposit for full course bookings. The remaining balance will be due in cash on your first day of training or CBT. Lessons are paid on a lesson by lesson basis. DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

Cost of petrol

Due to the rising fuel costs if a students  full course results in the student needing to come back to take extra training and tests (After original training and first test(s) flying colours will ask the student to pay a small charge towards the petrol costs of their extra training (maximum of £10 to be charged). The same applies to students returning to finnish a CBT.

Limitation of Liability

Flying Colours accepts no liability for any claim, loss, damage or expense arising out of the acts or omissions of Flying Colours or its employees, unless caused by the negligence, breach of contract, or wilful default of Flying Colours or its employees. Flying Colours will not be liable for any consequence or event which is outside of it's reasonable control or expectation. If any services do not comply with the contract between Flying Colours and the student, for any reason, the student's sole remedy against Flying Colours shall be limited to Flying Colours replacing the services or refunding the price paid for them. Under no circumstances whatsoever shall the liability of Flying Colours to the student exceed the price paid for the services.

Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes or restricts Flying Colours' liability for death or personal injury caused by Flying Colours' negligence or breach of contract, or for fraud or deliberate wrongdoing.
