Terms & Conditions

PLEASE READ & CAREFULLY

Thank you for choosing to learn to ride with Flying Colours Motorcycle Training Ltd.

The following Terms & Conditions will provide you with information in relation to your training – please contact us if you have any additional questions.

This agreement is made between yourself (The Customer) and Flying Colours, in relation to damage waiver, payments and arrangements for your training. Please note, once you book you are deemed to have agreed to our Terms & Conditions.

Damage waiver
You have the option to take out a damage waiver for the duration of your training. If during your training our vehicles, equipment or property are damaged, there will be no additional cost with this waiver.

If the waiver is not taken, the customer will be liable for the cost of repairs up to £350 per day. If the motorcycle is a complete write off, the customer has the option to buy the motorcycle at market value or replace the motorcycle with one of the same specification.

The waiver costs £10 for a CBT or £10 per day (6 day £60, 5 day £50, 4 day £40, 3 day £30) for an Intensive Training course. If you wish to take out the waiver, please add it to the student details form.

CBT
The cost of your CBT is £120 and includes the use of our motorcycles and all equipment or £100 using your own bike and equipment. Your training should take a minimum of approximately 4-8 hours. If at the end of your CBT you are deemed to not be ready or safe to go on the road independently, we will ask you to return for further sessions before we can issue you with a CBT certificate. The cost of returning to finish the CBT is charged @ £20 per hour.

Lessons
Flying Colours no longer offers single lessons. Only full courses may be purchased as Flying Colours feels that this is the best way to learn and gives the Customer the best possible chance of passing.

Training Courses
Please note that once you pay a deposit for a course you are agreeing to our T&Cs. The courses are priced from £425 to £695 which covers training with our instructors, use of all equipment, use of a motorcycle that is taxed, MOTd and insured and the cost of all test(s).

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required when booking with the remainder required two weeks before your course starts. Payment can be made via card, bank transfer or cash.

If after your first day on the training course the instructor feels the customer is unsuitable for intensive training, Flying Colours reserves the right to postpone your course until the client has had time to practise on a small capacity machine and is ready.

Please be aware for all students on intensive week long courses: If you do not pass your Module 1 test you cannot take your Module. In this instance, the customer will be liable for the cost of booking their new test(s) direct with the Driving Standards Agency.

Cost of fuel
During an A1, A2 or DAS course, the pupil will be loaned a suitable motorcycle. Petrol will be the responsibility of the pupil during their training.

Re-Taking of Test(s)
If the unfortunate should happen and the student finds him/herself having to re-take a test(s), an hourly charge applies of £20 per hour (plus fuel) for all extra training needed/undertaken.

Cancellations
All deposits are non-refundable. If you start a course and then decide to cancel, Flying Colours will attempt to refund you your test fees (£95.50) assuming there is enough time with the DVSA to get a refund.

Acknowledgement of the risks of motorcycling
You understand that by taking part in this activity you are exposed to a risk of death, becoming permanently disabled or suffering some other serious injury and you acknowledge that, even in the event that negligence on the part of Flying Colours MCT Ltd, or their Instructors, or any Individual carrying out duties on their behalf were to be a contributory cause of any serious injury you may suffer, the dominant cause of any serious injury will always be your voluntary decision to take part in riding a motorcycle.
